The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is one of the largest student-led organizations based in the United States.
The mission of the National Society of Black Engineers is “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.”
For 50 years NSBE-RPI, RPI’s premier engineering organization, has been committed to creating professional development, academic success, and community building opportunities for the members in our community and beyond. As a chapter we annually attend regional and national conferences to connect our diverse and talented members with excellent companies.

2022-2023:
Chapter President
My role as President was primarily public-facing where I worked on average 20-30 hours a week with companies to secure sponsorships, worked with the RPI administration to address campus issues, facilitated outreach events, and prepared for and presented at chapter events such as general body meetings.
During my term I was also responsible for the management of a 20-person Executive Board, creating and executing a vision for the chapter, and maintaining the financial health and success of an organization that has existed for 50 years. I also successfully increased new membership by 28% and acquired 4 sponsors during my term.

2021-2022:
Programs Chairperson
My role as Programs Chair was to plan and execute all recruitment and social events for our 115+ person chapter. I primarily organized back to school recruitment events, NSBonding, E-Board outings, and successfully brought back the first NSBE Gala since 2019.
During my term I developed my skills in group engagement, program management, vendor procurement and management, budgeting, creating promotional material for social media, and crisis management.
2020-2021:
Senator
My role as Senator was to represent the interests of NSBE-RPI by voting in National and Regional elections. I ensured that the chapter is abiding by the Constitution, Bylaws, and Parliamentary procedure and created a new system to track NSBE membership points using Google Sheets. I also successfully vetoed a 100% increase in National collegiate NSBE dues.
